Interview Time!
Thanks to The Bluegrass Blog for getting the scoop. Here are some great interviews they posted.
They were crafty though and I haven’t been given permission to post them here so I’ll just give up the links (until they get back to me).
Great Interview with Tom Adams (banjo picker for Michael Cleveland and Flamekeeper) from the 2009 IBMA Awards show a few weeks back. [The Bluegrass Blog]
But wait, there’s more!
A great interview with Sam Bush about his new CD “Circles Around Me” which will be released on Sugar Hill Records on October 20, 2009. I already pre-ordered the autographed copy (because I love Mr. Bush and his music), so believe me, a review of my own will be forthcoming. Check out the interview. [The Bluegrass Blog]
Focus on about 10 minutes in, they have an interesting discussion about how music distribution is changing in the digital age. This is a conversation, bluegrassers should be having all over the place. You’ll notice from the new Sam Bush CD (and the new Del McCoury CD, among others) offer different formats, pricing and perks to propel album sales. There is a major paradigm shift in the way that people consume music, so creating value (e.g. adding autographs, etc) gives consumers a REASON to buy it. Connect with fans, give a reason to buy and you will get paid (thank you Mike Masnick).
And last, but certainly not least, an interview from the IBMA World of Bluegrass with the venerable Del McCoury. Definetly worth a looksy. [The Bluegrass Blog]
